2023 year in review: plusone social impact’s projects
Despite the challenges of the war, the past year proved to be productive for plusone social impact agency, offering us new experiences and opportunities to work with socially important issues.
Throughout 2023, we actively worked on countering domestic violence, addressing issues related to human trafficking and exploitation, communicating Ukraine’s recovery efforts and the consequences of war, as well as assisting our clients with strategic communications.
Let’s delve into the projects we managed to implement just within 2023 with our clients.
- Together with the eRobota Government Grants Programme, we helped entrepreneurs receive grants to develop their businesses. Yes, even in times of war.
- Helped to raise $15 million of investments for the development of the Promprylad.Renovation project.
- Assisted the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine with the strategic communications of reforms.
- Together with the Office of the Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration and the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, and with the support of the UNFPA Ukraine, we launched a nationwide campaign against domestic violence, emphasizing the steps that everyone can take to counter it.
- With the support of the UNFPA Ukraine, we also launched a course and a series of lectures on sensitive communication during war, involving experts Ksenia Voznitsyna and Tetiana Troshchynska, as well as veteran of the Armed Forces Maksym Kolesnikov.
- Explained how to get free legal aid in cases of violence within the campaign for the Free Legal Aid system, launched with the support of USAID Transformation Communications Activity (TCA).
- Developed a communication strategy for the Ukrainian Veterans Foundation.
- Together with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Ukraine, we launched a campaign focused on overcoming the stigma surrounding seeking psychological help, particularly among veterans and their close ones, during the war.
- Developed a fundraising strategy for UAmaze to launch art classes for rehabilitated soldiers.
- Assisted with communications and continued to produce a vlog on countering disinformation for the Centre for Strategic Communication and Information Security.
- Told the stories of the witnesses of Russia’s war crimes together with Ukraine UA and celebrities as a part of ‘Witnessing the war’ project.
- In collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), we raised awareness about the issue of human trafficking and exploitation in Ukraine. In summer, a specially designed train ran in the Kyiv subway for a month, featuring the stories of human trafficking on its carriage walls.
- Created optical illusion images, drawing parallels with the hidden reality behind seemingly attractive offers of employment or temporary accommodation. The images, featuring the slogan ‘Look again, illusions may be deceiving’, were part of a broader anti-trafficking campaign, marking another large-scale project carried out in partnership with IOM Ukraine.
- Developed and assisted in the implementation of the communications strategy for the Ombudsman’s Office of Ukraine.
- Developed a communication strategy to promote integrity and a communication training for civil servants for the National Agency of Ukraine on Civil Service.
- Developed a strategy for the We Build Ukraine campaign for the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development, which will help attract investors’ funds for the country’s reconstruction.
- Created a website about the Ukraine of the future: https://future.ukraine.ua/
- Worked with the UNICEF global office, providing materials for several markets.
- Continued to develop our network of media centres in Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, and Kharkiv.
Regardless of how this year unfolded, we express gratitude to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the year itself.
The plan for the upcoming year mirrors that of the current one: continue believing and supporting.
