The Veteran’s Way only begins with returning home

26.02.2024

Even after demobilization, many veterans struggle to fully navigate back from war. The traumatic experiences they endured while protecting us linger in their minds. What they had to see, do and feel, keep their minds in the trenches.

Each veteran should navigate their own way home. What it will be like is up to the veteran to decide. But we have to create conditions for the veteran to have a choice and understand where and how to move after returning home. To undergo physical rehabilitation, restore mental balance, get legal advice, find a job or start a business.

The Ukrainian Veterans Foundation at the Ministry of Veterans Affairs serves as a starting point and resource hub for veterans. They can be reached at any time with any inquiry. Alternatively, one can simply reach out and ask, “I want to truly come home, where do I begin?”
