plusone social impact shortlisted for international Epica Awards
A Ukrainian agency plusone social impact has been shortlisted for an Epica Award 2024. The project “Illusions May Be Deceiving. Look Again” was chosen by the jury in the Public Interest – Humanitarian Aid category shortlist.
The campaign was created for the International Organization of Migration (IOM) and uses optical illusions to draw a parallel between deceptive job offers and the reality of labour exploitation and human trafficking. With millions of Ukrainians displaced due to the Russian full-scale invasion, the campaign highlights the increased vulnerability of society to such fraudulent schemes.
For this campaign, we produced videos depicting common scenarios of exploitation. The large optical illusion installation on the floor of Kyiv’s Central Railway Station – the most crowded location where thousands of people come to find a better life in the capital – has become a central element of the campaign. Upon closer inspection, the illusion reveals real stories of labor exploitation, from stolen passports and keeping workers in captivity to physical violence.

The “Illusions May Be Deceiving. Look Again” campaign also recently won an international SABRE Award EMEA.
The agency is proud to contribute to raising awareness about this important issue of work labour in Ukraine.
