Carol of the bells

“Shchedryk, shchedryk, shchedrivochka” – our team (and the world) has been singing for years on Christmas Eve.

In December 2021, we launched a campaign about the Shchedryk song to tell the real story of how Ukraine has brought Christmas magic to the planet!

In 1916, the Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych used one of the oldest melodies of national folklore to create a carol called Shchedryk.

Subsequently, the song became a powerful tool of cultural diplomacy – and only much later did the English-language version of  “Carol of the Bells” appear.
