The Veteran’s Way
After demobilization, many veterans struggle to fully come back from war. What they had to see, do, and feel, keep their minds in the trenches. The traumatic experiences they endured while protecting us linger in their minds.
Each veteran should find their way home. What it will be like is up to the veteran to decide. But we have to create conditions for the veteran to have a choice and understand where and how to move after returning home. To undergo physical rehabilitation, restore mental balance, get legal advice, find a job, or start a business.
The Ukrainian Veterans Foundation at the Ministry of Veterans Affairs serves as veterans’ starting point and resource hub. Alternatively, one can simply ask, “I want to truly come home, where do I begin?”
