Relief starts with a talk
The stereotypes teach men not to talk about their emotions and feelings.
But in reality, this is exactly what helps to overcome stress and depression – the basis of mental health is sharing.
To show how hiding problems affect men’s mental health, we created a 6 meters tall tower using the Jenga format as a symbol. Each block had a printed excuse common for men on one side and an actual emotion/problem – on the other, hidden inside the construction.
In front of the journalists and citizens of 2 Ukrainian cities (Kyiv and Mariupol), we tried to play Jenga and build it as high as possible, but we failed each time. That was our point: you can not make a happy life without strong mental health. And that is not possible if you ignore, hide or silence your genuine emotions.
